Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains how Ronething handles information related to your use of WakaTime Widgets.

Product overview

WakaTime Widgets is an independent iPhone dashboard and widget client for reviewing your recent WakaTime coding stats.

It is not an official WakaTime product and does not operate the WakaTime account system.

What we may handle

In the current version, WakaTime Widgets does not require a Ronething account or any sign-in flow operated by us.

We may handle the following categories of information:

• the WakaTime API key that you choose to paste into the app;
• locally stored shared-container data such as cached coding snapshots and lightweight preferences;
• support information that you choose to send to us by email.

How API keys and stats requests work

When you save an API key, refresh manually, or when the widget triggers an update, the app sends requests directly to the WakaTime API in order to read the stats associated with your account.

In the current version, the app does not upload your API key to servers operated by Ronething by default.
However, WakaTime is a third-party service and may process request-related data under its own product policies and infrastructure.

Local storage

To keep the host app and widget in sync, the current version stores the following items in the device-local shared container:

• the WakaTime API key;
• the most recent successful coding snapshot;
• small amounts of local state related to display and refresh behavior.

This data is used to:

• keep the host app and widget aligned;
• reduce blank states and repeated refresh friction;
• fall back to the most recent usable snapshot when a fresh request fails.

Spoken summaries

If you trigger spoken playback, the summary text is spoken on-device using system speech features. The current version does not require sending that summary text to Ronething-operated servers.

What we do not do by default

Unless a future feature clearly says otherwise:

• we do not run advertising or cross-app tracking for this app;
• we do not sell your personal information;
• we do not intentionally forward your WakaTime API key to Ronething-operated servers for long-term storage.

Third-party services

The current version depends on WakaTime for coding statistics.
If a future version introduces analytics, crash reporting, or cloud sync, we will update this policy before or when that change becomes available.

Data retention

Local cache and preference data generally remain on your device until you clear, replace, or remove the app.
If you send us support emails, screenshots, or other materials, we may retain them for a reasonable period as needed to provide support and investigate issues.

Children’s privacy

WakaTime Widgets is not specifically designed for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Policy updates

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and revise the effective date.
